During non-summer time (October 1 - April 30), the following counties allow only allow burn types 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13:

  • Bartow
  • Bibb
  • Carroll
  • Cherokee
  • Clarke
  • Clayton
  • Cobb
  • Columbia
  • Coweta
  • DeKalb
  • Douglas
  • Fayette
  • Floyd
  • Forsyth
  • Fulton
  • Gwinnett
  • Hall
  • Henry
  • Houston
  • Newton
  • Paulding
  • Richmond
  • Rockdale
  • Troup
  • Walker
  • Walton

All other counties allow burn types 1-13.

The following is a list of those types of open burning that are legal in the state of Georgia. Please note that the burning of garbage or lumber, even in a burn barrel, is illegal.
