Summer Legal Burn Map

A Georgia map showing which counties are allowed which burn types during the summer. Counties with restrictions are listed below.

During summer (May 1 - September 30), the following counties allow only allow burn types 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, and 12:

  • Fayette
  • Forsyth
  • Fulton
  • Gwinnett
  • Hall
  • Henry
  • Newton
  • Paulding

  • Spalding
  • Walton

During summer (May 1 - September 30), the following counties allow only allow burn types 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, and 12:

All other counties allow burn types 1-13.


Burn Types

The following is a list of those types of open burning that are legal in the state of Georgia. Please note that the burning of garbage or lumber, even in a burn barrel, is illegal.
