The Mobile and Area Sources Program (M&AS) evaluates and controls emissions from mobile (on-road and nonroad) sources and area (small industrial) sources. The program works to implement the vehicle emissions inspection and maintenance programs through “Georgia’s Clean Air Force.” The program also addresses air quality nonattainment issues, including developing and implementing control strategies.

- Addresses Atlanta ozone non-attainment issues including developing and implementing control strategies.
- Certifies Electric Vehicle Chargers and Converted Low Emission Vehicles for eligibility for tax credits.
- Implements and enforces the Stage I Gasoline Vapor Recovery Rule and Gasoline Transport Rule.
