Directions to the Floyd Building

The Floyd Building is located northeast of the State Capitol in the block between Piedmont Avenue and Jesse Hill, Jr. Drive, facing Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.

Parking Information

Parking is available in the Pete Hackney lot at 162 Jesse Hill Junior Drive SE for a flat rate of $10.00 per day (credit cards only). To access the Floyd Building, there is a pedestrian bridge on the 5th level of the Pete Hackney parking deck. Once you cross the bridge, take the stairs or elevator to the 3rd level of the Butler Parking Deck (this is parking for state employees and is not open to the public) and cross over a 2nd pedestrian bridge to enter the building near to the East Tower Security Desk.

Getting to the Floyd Building

From I-75/I-85 Northbound

  • Exit 246 (Fulton St. /Central Ave. toward Downtown).
  • Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Fulton Street.
  • At the first light, use the right 2 lanes to turn onto Fulton Street SW.
  • Turn left at the next light onto Capitol Avenue SE. (This becomes Piedmont Ave. SE. at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE.)
  • The front entrance to the building is located between the towers, facing Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE. (If you cross over the intersection at Decatur street, you have passed the building).

From I-75/I-85 Southbound

  • Exit 248A (M L King Jr Dr. toward State Capitol/Turner Field).
  • Use the right lane to merge onto M.L.K. Jr Dr.SE.
  • Go straight through the first light at Jesse Hill, Jr. Dr.
  • The front entrance to the building is located between the towers, facing Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE. (If you cross over the intersection of Capitol Ave. SW/Piedmont Ave. SE, you have passed the building).

From I-20 Westbound

  • Take exit 58A for Capitol Ave. toward Capitol Ave./Downtown
  • Use the right 2 lanes to run right onto Capitol Ave. SE (This becomes Piedmont Ave. SE. at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE.)
  • The front entrance to the building is located between the towers, facing Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE. (If you cross over the intersection at Decatur street, you have passed the building).

​ From I-20 Eastbound

  • Take exit 56B for Windsor St. toward Turner Field/Spring St.
  • Use the 2nd from the right lane to keep right; continue onto Rawson St. SW.
  • Use the middle lane to turn left onto Central Ave. SW.
  • Turn right onto Memorial Dr. SW.
  • Turn left onto Capitol Ave. SE (This becomes Piedmont Ave. SE. at the intersection with Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE.)
  • The front entrance to the building is located between the towers, facing Martin Luther King Jr Dr. SE. (If you cross over the intersection at Decatur street, you have passed the building).

MARTA

  • On the east/west line, exit the MARTA train at the Georgia State Station.
  • Exit the train and go up the escalator to access the building on the Balcony level, near the King of Snacks and Capitol Gift Shop.
  • Use the escalators inside of the building, or the elevators located at either end of the walkway (look for brown signs hanging from the ceiling), to access the Plaza level one floor down.  To access offices in the building, you will need to show photo ID at the East Tower Security Desk located on the Plaza level.
