Organics Laboratory
EPD's Organics Lab analyzes environmental samples for Synthetic Organic Compounds (SOCs) such as pesticides (e.g., 2,4-D, chlordane), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), Trihalomethanes, and Haloacetic Acids. The laboratory analyzes air samples for pesticide and polynuclear aromatic compounds in air using PUF (polyurethane foam) cartridges. Ozone precursors, such as methyl ethyl ketone and other carbonyl compounds, are analyzed during intensive summer sampling.
