Surface Mining Technical Assistance Duty Officer
On September 14, 2020, EPD notified stakeholders that in order to clarify that surface mine applications meet the requirements of O.C.G.A.12-4-75(2) which states, "To submit, with the application for a permit, a mining land use plan which shall be consistent with the land use in the area of the mine....", EPD has updated Section III. General Mining Information of the permit application. This change will be applied to all surface mine applications currently in-house at EPD and all future applications. Please see the

Expedited Permit Reviews for Borrow Pits
As of February 5, 2020, EPD has discontinued the expedited permit reviews for borrow pits. Please follow the
