Municipal stormwater discharges are regulated through the NPDES Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Permits. GA EPD has issued Phase I permit requirements that apply to Large and Medium MS4s and Phase II permit requirements that apply to Small MS4s. Permit information and resources are available below.
Reissuance of Phase I Large MS4 Permits (GAS000XXX)

Phase I Medium MS4 Permit Modification for Augusta-Richmond County (GAS000200)
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), Watershed Protection Branch, has issued a modification of NPDES Permit No. GAS000200, authorizing stormwater discharges from Augusta-Richmond County to the waters of the State of Georgia. The permit documents can be downloaded at the following links: Permit , Fact Sheet Revision , Response to Comments , and Impaired Waters Plans for Butler Creek , Spirit Creek , and Rocky Creek . The permit will expire April 11, 2027.
Draft Phase I Medium MS4 Permit Modification for Augusta-Richmond County (GAS000200)
