Municipal stormwater discharges are regulated through the NPDES Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Permits. GA EPD has issued Phase I permit requirements that apply to Large and Medium MS4s and Phase II permit requirements that apply to Small MS4s. Permit information and resources are available below.


MS4 Phase I and II


Phase I Large MS4


The 2019 Phase I Large MS4 NPDES Permits Nos. GAS000XXX for Storm Water Discharges from Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) were reissued on May 13, 2019 with an effective date of June 11, 2019. The permits are posted on the Watershed Protection Branch Permit and Public Comments Clearinghouse. Additional permit information and resources are available below.


Phase I Medium MS4


The 2017 Phase I Medium MS4 NPDES Permits Nos. GAS000XXX for Storm Water Discharges from Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) were reissued on March 17, 2017 with an effective date of April 12, 2017. The permits are posted on the Watershed Protection Branch Permit and Public Comments Clearinghouse. Additional permit information and resources are available below. 


General NPDES Permit No. GAG610000 for Phase II MS4                                                                                                                                       


The 2017 General NPDES Stormwater Permit No. GAG610000 for Phase II Storm Water Discharges from Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) was reissued on November 15, 2017 with an effective date of December 6, 2017.
